Topic: John F. Kennedy’s Catholicism and the winning of the 1960 presidential election
This essay will explore the anti-catholic prejudice during the 1960, tracing roots to the Governor Alfred E. Smith who was overwhelmingly defeated in the presidential race. I will explore president Kennedy dealt with the prejudices and skepticism that came with his religion, and explore the reasons behind winning the West Virginia Primary. Finally, I will trace to the final days of the election, and how Kennedy was elected as the first and only Catholic to have held the office of presidency.
In this essay I will discuss the pros and cons of the gun laws in the US, and I will compare these gun laws, to gun laws of other countries. I will explain how these laws influence crime rates.
Topic: The similarities and differences between the presidential assassinations of Abraham Lincoln, John F Kennedy, and William McKinley. I am going to consider who the shooters were and their background information, the similarities between the three presidents even before they were shot, and the situation where each of them were killed.

Although a scientific accomplishment, the Apollo 11 mission also helped demonstrate the United States' persistence and capability during times of political stress. My topic will be Black Hawk Down, also known as The Battle of Mogadishu. The battle took place in the early 1990’s in the country of Somalia between the United States and Somalia’s militia. The purpose of my writing will be to investigate the reasons behind the battle and the events that led to it, in order to evaluate the outcome/effectiveness of the raid.
My term paper will revolve around the history and evolution of collegiate rowing in the US. After looking at the beginning of the sport in colleges and how it spread throughout the nation. I will discuss how it has impacted these colleges and how certain colleges only have club teams, while others have school teams.

My topic: The History of House Music from the 80s through Today in the US
I chose this topic because of a previous conversation with my dad about the creation of house music in the US, specifically New York City in the 80s. This interactive conversation included different samples of music taken directly from clubs after a DJ finished his set as well as new samples from the Top Ten lists on iTunes this month. I truly believe that the new technology used for House Music revolutionized the way pop and hip- hop music sounded and the orgin of this genre can be brought back to my parent’s generation. With these new instruments came new artists and new sounds, ones that America had never seen before. With this new music came a surrounding culture that influenced many Americans; this culture continues to thrive in the US.
Topic: Same sex marriage from the viewpoint that it should be and will be legalized in the US. I will consider activist movements from the past that relate to the fight for same sex marriage to support the view that it will be legalized. I will also discuss equality and a more philosophical aspect of same sex marriage.
Topic: In my term paper I will compare and contrast decisions made by presidents in times of crisis. The cuban missal crisis and how John F. Kennedy chose to handle that situation will be the centerpiece of the paper. I will research other events where the choices made were historically significant, such as possibly Ronald Reagan's interactions with Gorbachev and/or the choice to enter World War Two in Europe.
In my term paper I will talk about the ratio profiling in the airport after 9/11 in the United States. I will discuss how the US ratio profiling contrasts the declaration of independence since the Americans believe that “all men are created equal”.

My research will also consist of how the war brought the US out of the Great Depression; as well as, the pros and cons of the bombing itself.
Topic: Women in the Jazz World Through studying jazz over the years, I have found that the majority of instrumentalists are male, and that the well-known female jazz musicians (who are not vocalists) are very difficult to find. With much searching, the results I found for female jazz instrumentalists were minimal, but the few of whom I found were current artists, ironically, not from the revolutionary jazz eras. In my term paper, I want to study each century from the 1920s till present day in order to successfully answer the question: why is it that men dominate in the world of instrumental jazz?

Dennis Mitchell and Carl Lewis who placed 4th and 2nd respectively, sparked an ongoing era of doping amongst professional American track and field athletes.
My term paper will focus on the relations of the United States and Germany. Including me, many people in the U.S. are of German descent and German culture has greatly influenced the United States since its establishment. I will discuss the feelings of resent prior and during World War I and II, which then leads to the fixed relations and agreements between the two countries during the Cold War and the present day.
My term paper will discuss chemistry during WWII. WWII was the first time that chemistry was used to create weaponry and it did not end well. I will look into the reason why chemistry suddenly became involved in war and how it effected the battlefield.
My term paper will be on Stanford Meisner and the Meisner technique. I will plan on discussing Meisner's influence on acting in the US. I will study how his technique was developed and why it is effective.
What are the consequences of bombing Hiroshima and Nagasaki?
The bombing of Japan that happened in August 1945 and caused approximately more than 200,000 deaths ended the World War II. This event was a great tragedy in the Japanese and world history, and Japan up to date has to deal with its consequences. What are they and how much of an influence did they have on the country? In my term paper I will try to answer those questions.
For my term paper, I would like to discuss the Space Race, which grew out of the Cold War. The Space Race pinned two opposing powerhouses against one another, the democratic United States, and the totalitarian communist Soviet Union. I will discuss why the arena of space was such a vital one to this competition, and how the two global superpowers put aside their differences, and agreed to pursue exploration of the new frontier together after Cold War’s end.
For my term paper I will discuss the race discrimination at the University of Mississippi in the 1960’s. I will show how bad the discrimination was to African Americans, and then show the connections between the discrimination at ole miss and their football team at the time. This topic was a very large subject for sports and civil rights movements. It shows how racial discrimination at a place like Ole Miss happened for an extremely long time and how sports played a large part in it.
My term paper will be about the performance of U.S. Special Operations forces in American military history, and how their performance has ultimately helped shape the United States military today. Key points in my paper will be about training and development of such operators and how they become the very best at what they do. Secondly, I plan on speaking about historical scenarios in which Special Operations groups played a major part in the outcome of a certain battle or war, such as the insertion of the Combat Applications Group (Delta Force) in Iraq before the war technically started, as well as the presence of Naval Special Warfare Development Group (DEVGRU/SEAL Team 6) in situations like the Jessica Buchanan rescue, the slaying of known terrorist Osama Bin Laden, as well as the rescue of Captain Richard Phillips from Somali Pirates.
Abraham Lincoln established the Homestead Act in 1863. Any man or women over the age of 21, anyone who didn’t own more than 160 acres of land anywhere, or any person who intended to become citizens of the U.S., were eligible to have a homestead. Anyone eligible could claim a large piece of land, build a home, and start a life there. This paper will show why the Homestead Act became an act, whom would use the Homestead Act, and how the Act affected people.
For my paper I hope to research how the attacks on the September 11th affected the United States and its citizens. I hope to go in depth on how it changed our government’s stance on national security and what 9/11 did to citizens in the short and long term. I want to do this topic because I live so close to New York and have a very good memory of that fateful day. Topic: Marijuana Legalization In my essay I will discuss the benefits of legalizing marijuana including taxing, medicinal purposes, and the benefits of hemp. I will also talk about the downsides to legalizing it including the possibility of it having long term effects on the brain. My paper will be about the Great Chicago Fire of 1871 and how the city of Chicago was able to rebuild following such destruction. I will also discuss the lasting effects that the fire has had on the city. The fire, which lasted about three days, destroyed nearly the entire city except for about five buildings, and one third of the entire population of Chicago was left homeless. Despite this, the city was able to rebuild and become one of the most populous and culturally diverse cities in the United States.
In my term paper I will explain how the famous Michigan "Fab 5" changed basketball. Known as the best college recruiting class of all time, these five freshman created an image on and off the court that was much bigger than the game itself. Their baggy shorts, black socks, black shoes, and swagger was truly revolutionary. I want to do this topic because I believe it's something I will not only enjoy researching and writing, but put the most passion into.
My term paper is going to be on the movie Schindler's List. Schindler's list is a movie about a business man (Oscar Schindler) who is only interested in earning money, at first. He is a member of the Nazi party and opens a factory to make weapons for Germany during WWII. He begins to notice the atrocities that are being committed on the Jews. There is one scene that completely changes who he is. From then on his factory becomes a haven for Jews. He goes out of his way to have Jews transfer to his factory. He bribes high up Nazi officials. He saved thousands of Jew's lives. I want so compare this movie to real life events that took place during world war two and search whether or not this movie can be called an accurate source of history, or if it was a made up story. Were parts of it made up? Was it all true? Or all fake? These are the questions I am going to answer in my term paper/project.

Their baggy shorts, black socks, black shoes, and swagger was truly revolutionary. I want to do this topic because I believe it's something I will not only enjoy researching and writing, but put the most passion into.

My term paper is going to be on the movie Schindler's List. Schindler's list is a movie about a business man (Oscar Schindler) who is only interested in earning money, at first. He is a member of the Nazi party and opens a factory to make weapons for Germany during WWII. He begins to notice the atrocities that are being committed on the Jews. There is one scene that completely changes who he is. From then on his factory becomes a haven for Jews. He goes out of his way to have Jews transfer to his factory. He bribes high up Nazi officials. He saved thousands of Jew's lives. I want so compare this movie to real life events that took place during world war two and search whether or not this movie can be called an accurate source of history, or if it was a made up story. Were parts of it made up? Was it all true? Or all fake? These are the questions I am going to answer in my term paper/project.

I am going to write my term paper on women athletics in American media. How they are depicted by society and why. For example, the only female to ever play in the NHL was Manon Rhéaume. However, she was not the most talented goal tender in my and many others opinions. She was the best looking one. There are many accounts of women athletes being treated differently in the media and I am going to find out why.
